Welcome to Ragalayam School of Music: 25 Years of Artistic Excellence

As Ragalayam School of Music proudly steps into its 25th year, we celebrate a quarter-century of preserving, teaching, and elevating the traditional arts. The institution was founded by the esteemed mridangam maestro, the late Sri Cheppad A.E. Krishnan Namboothiri—who remains our eternal guiding light—alongside Sri Chengarapally Vinod. Together, they planted a seed that has blossomed into a premier destination for artistic learning in Kerala.

Our Presence Headquartered in our founding town of Cheppad, Ragalayam has expanded its cultural footprint with thriving branches in Harippad and Pullukulangara. Continuing our journey of growth, we recently launched a prestigious collaborative initiative, Roots & Rhythms (in association with Omkaar), bringing our rich mentoring legacy to the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram.

What We Teach We provide comprehensive, high-level training across a wide spectrum of disciplines, bridging the gap between passion and professional mastery:

• Performing Arts: Carnatic Vocal, Violin, Veena, Mridangam, Classical Dance, and Keyboard.
• Fine Arts: Professional Drawing and Painting.

Our Legacy of Success Over the last two decades, Ragalayam has successfully nurtured and trained over 800 students. Our commitment to quality is reflected in the consistent achievements of our disciples, who regularly secure top honors at student youth festivals and achieve highly coveted professional gradings from All India Radio (AIR).

Furthermore, we are incredibly proud of our academic rigor; over 100 of our students have successfully secured their rigorous 2-year BSS Arts Diploma in subjects ranging from Violin and Veena to Carnatic Music and Drawing.
